Advanced Seismic Interpretation

Introduction

The main objective is to provide E&P professionals with knowledge on visualization, integration and interpretation techniques recently developed for seismic data. Learning objectives are at knowledge and application levels. The participants will gain a solid understanding of the applications and role of the seismic interpreter in studies related with pre- and post-stack seismic attributes, AVO, seismic sequence Stratigraphy, seismic geomorphology and rock physics measurements, 4D or time lapse seismic, and multidisciplinary integrated studies. Recent and relevant case histories, data examples, and exercises will guide the participants in the understanding that the integration of all available data into the seismic model will add value in the needed coherent and successful seismic predictions that result from an interpretation.

Objectives

This 5-day training course provides interpretation techniques developed for seismic data sets and applications on seismic attributes, seismic sequence stratigraphy, Structural Geology, and AVO. The training course will feature the Software provided which will guide the participants in the integration of all available data sets into the seismic model adding value to successful seismic predictions.

The training course will help professionals to gain a solid understanding of the applications and role of the seismic interpreter in studies that involve post-stack seismic attributes, AVO, seismic sequence stratigraphy, seismic geomorphology, 4D time-lapse seismic, Vertical Seismic Profile and Interpretative processing.

By the end of this training course, the participants will:

    • Have working knowledge of the full range of representative special interpretative methods
    • Have experience on hands-on real data sets and real workflow in the oil industry, which he may carry out himself and/or supervise
    • Be capable to account for the geophysical input in multi-disciplinary teams
    • Be proficient on Seismic interpretation

Training Methodology

The training methodology is interactive with group exercises and is suitable for all employees involved in functions management. The pace and level of the training workshop is customized to the understanding of the delegates. Ongoing back-up and support is available after the training on request to the supplier, and the training course is also available for in-house presentation as well as for “Competency Transfer”.
