Introduction
Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification is the PMI’s newest credential that has been developed to demonstrate the skills of professionals who manage multiple related projects (programs) that are aligned with an organization’s strategy. The need for Standards for program management was determined during the development of PMI’s. Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3®), which takes a comprehensive look at the practices of project, program, and portfolio management. The PgMP is a credential that recognizes demonstrated experience, skill, and performance in the oversight of multiple, related projects that are aligned with an organizational objective and strategic goal. Candidates for the PgMP manage a program’s resources to ensure its ultimate success and are responsible for its modification and decision making that advance strategic and business objectives ensuring the ultimate success and acceptance of the program.
Objectives
The participants will gain a detailed knowledge and understanding of how Program managers define and initiate programs, assign project managers to manage cost, schedule, and performance of component projects, and oversee multiple projects directed to achieving the strategic goals.
Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practices. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
